It's August and summer is almost gone. AWESOME!
We are knee deep in the recording of our new record which is titled; "Cyber Suburban Electro Rock Circus". Hopefully the record will out by the late 2008, if not than early 2009.
We are addicted to Bravo's "Project Runway", "Flipping Out" & "Shear Genius". These shows are as kick awesome as reality shows get.
That's pretty much what we've got going on. Nice huh?

This is just a quick little update to make certain your summer is going well and that you are listening to our music every day like the doctor told you to. You don't want to disappoint your current medical professional.. do you? Well neither do we, so make sure you are LISTENING to JoyFocus music at least three(3) times per day – preferably before each meal.
Oh yeah, we got a KILLER review of our latest Ep, Ultra Catchy Atomic Pop Interlude, from Wildy’s World (www.wildysworld.blogspot.com) … it reads a little something like this;
“JoyFocus is a power rock due from Wheaton, IL, consisting of Holly Joy and Rikk Currence. Dancing around the edge of contemporary Christian rock, JoyFocus displays powerfully positive messages in their songs.
Ultra Catchy Atomic Pop Interlude - Volume 1 consists of three songs. Rikk Currence shares vocals with Holly Joy on He & Mary. Their voices are in perfect counterpoint to each other, she with a child-like quality reminiscent of Cyndi Lauper, circa-1985; he with a mellow baritone. On Mr. Hughes Comes Home and Prayer the lead is all Holly Joy. Her enigmatic sound wraps itself in the music like a trusted friend, particularly when Currence joins in on harmony in Prayer.
This is just a small sample, but it's obvious that JoyFocus has a certain spark or chemistry that turns the connection of notes and words into something more than just the song. They have a full length release due in the Fall of 2008, and I will be excited to see what that brings.”

Gearing Up & Looking Ahead....
Okay....
It's almost summer here in the suburbs of Chicago - it was a sweltering forty degrees today! Soon the birds will be singing, the sun will be shining, gas will be $6.99 per gallon, Commonwealth Edison will be charging an arm & a leg for air conditioning... you know, all the fruits of a Midwestern, suburban style summer!
Anywhoo..We all know that summer time is a busy and hectic time of the year for everyone..Especially us rawkstar creative types. So, in an effort to help you keep tabs on your favorite band, us, and to make up for the inevitable fact we'll be distracted with "stuff" and be updating the site a little less frequently, we've gone ahead and outlined our plans for the next eight weeks below!
First: we want to remind you to go listen to and then buy our EP -
Ultra Catchy Atomic Pop Interlude - Volume I.

Second: We also want to remind you that us & our music are still set to be featured in the upcoming film, "Don't you forget about me - the movie".

Third: We are about a week out from starting the recording of our full length release tilted "Cyber Suburban Electro Rock Circus." It is set to be released this fall. We started getting things set up and dialed in at the studio this week. Recording begins the first week of June.

Fourth: We are gearing up for a small tour to support our upcoming release "Cyber Suburban Electro Rock Circus". We will be doing some "one-off" shows this summer, with a full blown tour to support the record following by years end. Again I say.. Awesome!
